State Level Yoga competition 2018 to strengthen the grassroots level yoga

Yoga is popular & everyone is aware of the usefulness for health. Yoga Exercises are not physical exercises as generally accepted.

Yoga is simply a conscious and systematic process for the complete physical, mental, intellectual, emotional and spiritual development of human being. In short, it is a methodical approach to self-perfection. Meditation practice is a technique for calming down the mind to its subtle and more sensitive layers by releasing stress and sharpening the faculties and understanding.

Regular practice of Yoga & changes in lifestyle leads to healthy lifestyle & removal of diseases with ease.

Introduction of Mega Events of Yoga Competition


Swami Ramdevji of Patanjali Yog peeth is pioneer who has spread yoga practices in masses with his blessings & motivation, Yog Society of Maharashtra, is organizing the yoga competition to strengthen the grassroots level yoga practitioners. This will help them show their talent at state level.
This event is mega event which will create a landmark in the field of Yoga will be launched under the able guidance and support of Mr. Ramkumar Rathi ,who is the chairman of Yog Society of Maharashtra. Mr. Rathi is practicing yoga over a decade and has set a mission to promote yoga for wellness of the society across the country and worldwide. Dr Sunanda Rathi one of the coordinator says that as yoga is becoming competitive globally we have to provide platform to budding yoga experts to come forward to raise the bar.

What is the Aim of the Yoga State Level Competition?


The aim of this event is to bring all yoga institution on one platform as Yog means unite. All yoga experts, practitioners, trainers, studios & Big pioneer Institutions all will come together to promote yoga for the wellness of society. Yoga experts will get a huge platform to showcase their performance at state level.

What is this event?


This is state level completion at three stages. In Three Groups for both genders. Male & Female
First at District Level:
Date: 21st Jan to 28th Jan 2018.
Last date of application - 18th Jan 2018.
1. Age groups and corresponding date of birth are as below -
a. Age – 10 to 15 yrs (Date of birth - 01/01/2003 to 31/12/2007)
b. Age - 16 to 25 yrs (Date of birth – 01/01/1993 to 31/12/2002)
c. Age – 26 yrs and above (Date of birth –31/12/1992 or before )
2. Fees for the competition is as below – District Level – Rs. 100/-
Selection –
From each group first three participants will be selected as winners for zonal level.
All winners will receive certificates and medal. Bronze, silver and gold.

Second Stage at Zonal Level
Date: 24th Feb 2018 to 4th March 2018.
1. Age groups and corresponding date of birth are as below -
a. Age – 10 to 15 yrs (Date of birth - 01/01/2003 to 31/12/2007)
b. Age - 16 to 25 yrs (Date of birth – 01/01/1993 to 31/12/2002)
c. Age – 26 yrs and above (Date of birth –31/12/1992 or before )
2. Fees for the competition is as below – Zonal Level – Rs. 200/-
Selection –
From each group first two participants will be selected as winners for state level.
All winners will receive certificates and medal - Silver and Gold.


Third Stage State Level:
Date: 11th March 20188, Sunday at Pune.

1. Age groups and corresponding date of birth are as below -
a. Age – 10 to 15 yrs (Date of birth - 01/01/2003 to 31/12/2007)
b. Age - 16 to 25 yrs (Date of birth – 01/01/1993 to 31/12/2002)

What are the Rules of Yoga Competitions?

  1. Each yoga participant has to perform asanas given under their group with proper yogic method.
  2. As per the age group, they have to perform one asana of their choice which has to be other than already given five asana in syllabus.
  3. Asana trainings will be as represented in pictures in guidebook. Positions pictures given in guidebook will be considered as ideal position for any asana.
  4.  Each asana has to be maintained for one minute. Asana of choice has to be maintained for 30 sec.
  5.  Each participant should bring their own Yoga mat/ Carpet.
  6.  Participant should wear decent cloths suitable for practicing yoga asana.
  7. The decisions made by examiners and Coordinators will be final.
  8. Each participant needs to bring following documents 
  9. i)Date of Birth Certificate
    ii) Bonafide certificate ( original and photocopy)
    iii) 2 passport size photos
    11. Fees for the competition is as below –
    i) District Level – Rs. 100/-
    ii) Zonal Level – Rs. 200/-
    iii) State Level – Rs. 300/-
  10.  Rules and regulations of the competition are binding on Yoga Performer/ Yoga Teacher and parents or other concerned people. Violating the rules will result in disqualification form the games.

  11. Yoga participants are expected to be present at the venue of the games at least 10 min earlier. There will not be separate examination for late comers.

  12.  Any misconduct or arguments by participants or teams thereof will result in thneir disqualification from the game. Decision by Organizers will be final in such cases

  13.  Participants are solely responsible for any injury/accident or such incident at the venue. Organizers will not be responsible for any such incident.

  14.  The prizes will be given only to first three winners in each group.

Second Winner will get “Maharshi Patanjali Rajya Stareeya Yoga Puraskar” of Rs. 21000/- and trophy and certificates.
